ABOUT TECHJAYS
Techjays is an AI-first technology company helping businesses worldwide build intelligent solutions that transform how industries operate. Our global team brings deep expertise from Google,NetApp, ADP, Cognizant Consulting, and Capgemini — delivering tailored AI software and services to clients ranging from high-growth startups to large-scale enterprises. We move fast, think boldly, and believe technology should drive real-world impact.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a seasoned Head of Finance who can independently own the financial operations of a fast-growing AI company. This is a senior, strategic role — not a back-office function. You will work directly with leadership, be responsible for compliance, payroll, financial reporting, and forecasting, and bring the rigour of a finance professional with the agility of a startup mindset. If you understand urgency, thrive under ownership, and take pride in clean, accurate, compliant financials — this role is for you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage end-to-end financial operations including P&L, balance sheet ownership, and cash flow forecasting.
- Handle all GST and TDS computations, filings, and ensure timely compliance with government regulations — zero tolerance for delays.
- Process payroll end-to-end — employee taxes, deductions, reimbursements, incentives, compensation adjustments, and payslip generation.
- Prepare and present financial reports — profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and variance analyses — for leadership review.
- Collaborate with HR on payroll data integration, employee benefits administration, and compliance tracking.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and vendors for periodic reviews and statutory filings.
- Leverage AI-powered and automation tools to streamline financial workflows and reduce manual dependencies.
- Maintain detailed and audit-ready financial records and documentation at all times.
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements to enhance efficiency across finance and payroll operations.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws, labor regulations, and statutory compliance norms — domestic and international where applicable.
- Support leadership with annual budgeting, financial planning cycles, and data-driven strategic decisions.
- Handle sensitive financial and employee data with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in finance and payroll, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
- Deep, practical knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian statutory tax compliance — you work independently without hand-holding.
- Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is strongly preferred; you know how to move fast and stay compliant.
- Demonstrated experience using AI-driven tools or automation to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.
- Strong analytical ability — you translate numbers into insights that inform real decisions, not just generate reports.
- Experience coordinating across HR, legal, and operations teams for payroll and compliance activities.
- Excellent attention to detail, high personal accountability, and strong communication skills with leadership.
