Job description
Role Overview
We're hiring a HubSpot Email Marketing Specialist to build and run our email marketing program end to end. You'll own the full system: how contacts flow from our CRM into campaigns, how emails are designed and built, how we segment and grow our audience, and how we measure what works. Our audience is C-level executives at mid-market companies in the United States. Every email you send represents Techjays to that audience, so exceptional written English and a strong sense of what resonates with US business executives are essential.
This is a strategic role, not only an execution role. We're looking for someone who understands both the technology and the craft of email marketing, and who can tell us how to get the most out of our reach, not just how to press send.
- Experience: 5+ years
- Department: Marketing
- Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities & Role Description
- Build our email marketing strategy for reaching C-level executives at US mid-market companies.
- Develop a list growth strategy that brings new, qualified contacts into our audience through website forms, content offers, events, and sales activity.
- Recommend the right cadence, content mix, and campaign types to maximize engagement and pipeline impact.
Newsletter and campaign management
- Set up and run our recurring newsletter, from build to scheduling to reporting.
- Plan, build, and launch one-off campaigns such as announcements, event invitations, and content promotion.
- Work with the marketing team to finalize email copy. Content may be drafted internally or with AI tools; you'll ensure it's polished, on-brand, and written for a US executive audience.
Automated flows
- Design and build automated email workflows in HubSpot, including welcome series, nurture tracks by funnel stage or service line, and re-engagement campaigns.
- Define enrollment, suppression, and exit rules so contacts move cleanly between campaigns without being over-emailed.
CRM integration and contact management
- Connect HubSpot Sales Hub and Marketing Hub so new sales contacts flow automatically into the right email campaigns.
- Set up and maintain lifecycle stages, lead status, and marketing contact settings.
- Exclude internal employees and other non-target contacts so campaign metrics reflect our real audience.
- Coordinate with the sales team so prospects in active sales outreach aren't double-contacted by marketing.
List segmentation
- Build segments based on industry, company size, role, deal stage, and engagement.
- Keep lists clean through regular hygiene: removing bounces, unengaged contacts, and duplicates.
Template design
- Design and build native, modular HubSpot email templates aligned with our updated brand guidelines.
- Create templates that any team member can use to assemble an email without breaking the layout, and that render well across email clients and on mobile.
Testing and analytics
- Run structured A/B tests on subject lines, send times, CTAs, and content.
- Build reporting dashboards that track opens, clicks, conversions, and influence on pipeline.
- Share regular insights and recommendations with marketing and sales leadership.
Deliverability and compliance
- Manage the health of our marketing email domain, including authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and sender reputation.
- Monitor bounce rates, spam complaints, and inbox placement, and act quickly on issues.
- Ensure all email activity complies with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other applicable regulations, including subscription types and consent management.
Profile & Skill Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on email marketing experience in HubSpot**, including building campaigns, workflows, and templates in Marketing Hub.
- Proven experience integrating Sales Hub and Marketing Hub, including lifecycle stages, lead status, contact properties, and automated handoffs between sales and marketing.
- Exceptional written and spoken English. You write clearly, concisely, and naturally for a US business audience, and you can present ideas confidently on calls with US-based leadership.
- Experience marketing to a US B2B audience, ideally reaching executives or decision-makers at mid-market companies.
- Newsletter and automation expertise: you've set up recurring newsletters and multi-step automated flows, and can show results.
- Strong segmentation and list growth skills, with a track record of growing an engaged, qualified list.
- Email template design experience: you can build responsive, on-brand templates in HubSpot's drag-and-drop editor, with working knowledge of HTML and CSS for email.
- Data-driven approach: you run A/B tests, read campaign analytics, and turn results into clear recommendations.
- Deliverability knowledge: domain authentication, sender reputation, and list hygiene best practices.
- Compliance knowledge of CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and consent management.
- Ownership mindset: you can run the email program independently and proactively bring ideas, not just complete tasks.
Nice to have
- HubSpot certifications such as Email Marketing, Marketing Hub Software, or Inbound Marketing.
- Experience marketing technology, software development, or AI services.
- Experience with lead scoring and attribution reporting in HubSpot.
- Familiarity with AI writing tools and how to refine AI-drafted content for a professional audience.
- Experience working with distributed teams across US and India time zones.
